They are notable for extreme intelligence, versatility, and extreme loyalty to their master and family. They excell in a variety of hunting applications, are adept a herding livelstock and make excellent ranch and famliy dogs, as well as working as security'watchdogs, therapy dogs, search and rescue applications.
