My passion has always been with animals even as a young child. I take an approach of trying to communicate with my patients, clients, family and my own animals. My training methods include positive reinforcement and the use of the clicker or a marker. I do not use choke, pinch, shock or any other form of punishment due to the adverse side effects. I follow and I believe in the position that the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior advocates. I am a volunteer for Canine Companion Institute as a puppy raiser. My education is always ongoing. I am certified in teaching pet safety for children. This teaches children how to recognize the signs that dogs give and whether the dogs are scared, happy, nervous or aggressive. Most important for the children to learn is what to do in a situation that can be dangerous .I am a certified tricks trainer and agility trainer. I believe we need to have fun with our pets because they are part of our family. Tricks also build self esteem and confidence. We need to “do more with our dogs” so they learn how to be a part of our family and how to just have fun with them.I I offer group and private training. Puppy classes focus on the foundation skills needed for a well behaved dog that you build on and take however far you would like to go with it. I create behavior plans for a multitude of problems. I go to the source and create a plan of what you want the animal to do.
