New England Eyecare of Manchester was founded in 1986 and purchased by Dr. Mark Sturgis in 1989. Dr. Sturgis purchased the South Windsor office, formerly Focus Eyecare, from Dr. Joseph Segal in 2012 and renamed it New England Eyecare. Dr. Sturgis is the president, owner, and medical director. Over the last few decades, Dr. Sturgis owned and practiced at other New England Eyecare offices in West Hartford, East Hartford, Waterbury, Newington and Avon. Those practices were merged or sold to other doctors. Dr. Motto returned to Connecticut after practicing in the Southeast for a decade, and joined the practices in 2012 with the acquisition of the South Windsor office.  In 2016, we built our new office at 29 Buckland Street in Manchester and merged the Manchester and South Windsor offices into the new state-of-the-art facility. Dr. Stephanie Sturgis joined our practice in 2016.
