Our History, and Why We Have "A Tradition of Caring" Built in the early 1960s, the St. Jude Care Center started as a ministry of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, which is still located next door. Originally staffed and managed by Roman Catholic nuns, St. Jude Care Center was a compassionate care ministry serving the sick and elderly of our community. Today, St. Jude Care Center is family owned and operated, and is licensed as a skilled nursing facility by the California Department of Public Health. St. Jude Care Center is not associated with the Diocese of Stockton or its church affiliates. People of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome to use our services.
