New Horizons....Lighting the Way to Independence for over 70 years!
Originating in 1942 as the Northwest Florida Crippled Children's Association, its original purpose was to serve polio victims. The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #33, saw a need and responded by starting a home and has been a continued supporter ever since.
Since then, the organization has been serving and physically challenged people in our community. Services include habilitation training, speech therapy, and all personalized to the needs of each client. New Horizon's 24-hour staff consists of RNs, LPNs, Direct Care Staff and Auxiliary Staff.
In 1980 the established Crippled Children's Home on Avery Street was relocated to its present Northview Community site at 10050 Hillview Drive.
