Running a design/ build construction company in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, I find the greatest satisfaction in assisting owners as they: realize their build dreams, understand the construction process, including budgets, specifications and expectations; and anticipate energy costs (savings) from responsible building practices. Being an educator for the NAHB University of Housing courses for builders and remodelers, I find the greatest satisfaction in assisting fellow craftsmen and women to: understand the evolution of building, technology, and management systems; grasp the practical application of best practices in this new era of advanced-performance building; and anticipate the future of sustainable, net-PLUS energy, healthy homes and buildings.
