In the case of repairs I repair by disassembling the piece completely to ensure that not only will the problem be remedied,but any possible unseen problems are taken care of so that there will be no need to have it sent for an additional problem that reveals itself after the initial problem is resolved. It is a good bet that the piece will be more solid afterward than when sent for repair.
