Surprise Valley Electric is a private, non-profit rural electric cooperative owned by those it serves. Individuals receiving electric service from SVE are member-owners of the cooperative. SVE was formed to provide reliable electric service to the member-owners at the lowest rates possible. We currently have the lowest electric rates in California and among the lowest in Oregon and Nevada. We strive to have stable affordable rates and have not had a rate increase since 2001. SVE’s service territory extends north to Summer Lake, Oregon, south to Ravendale, California, west to Day, California and east to Vya, Nevada. The total area served is 9,738 square miles. We do not serve the towns of Alturas, Lakeview, Cedarville and New Pine Creek. These communities are served by Pacific Power.
