Many in our churches are deceived because they heard and responded to a watered down gospel message that presents Jesus as a genie in a lamp, and as you rub the lamp, Jesus jumps out and grants you whatever you wish including salvation without sorrow, remorse, conviction or repentance. This watered down message present the gospel like the world presents a new diet or some exercise machine that will make you feel better A Note from our Pastor​ A watered down gospel is no gospel at all (Gal 1:6-9). Many preachers today preach on nothing else except the love of God, Joy, happiness and the abundant life Christianity offers, and those are wonderful themes. But the same Bible that says, “God is love”, also says, “Our God is a consuming fire” (Heb. 12:29), and that “God is angry with the wicked every day” (Ps 7:11). The same Bible that teach about Love, Joy, Grace and mercy also teach about sin, judgment, repentance and God’s wrath. If we don’t preach about sin and its wages, sinners will see no reason for repentance. If we don’t preach about hell, sinners will see no reason to seek Heaven. We do sinners an injustice by enticing them with only the benefits of salvation which result in sinners coming to Christ with an impure motive void of repentance, void of genuine salvation. Not only has the gospel been watered down, but the themes of holiness and sanctification in the church are hardly ever mentioned. At Hosanna Chapel, we strive to keep the Gospel of Christ pure as we share it in its entirety for we will receive “a stricter judgment” (James 3:1).
