First Methodist Conroe was organized in 1870. There was no designated meeting place other than in homes. Later, meetings were held in a one-room school located at the corner of Sherman and 3rd Street. Currently, the congregation is undertaking an ambitious task of reaching the community in a greater way, updating the current facility, expanding children and youth programming, and investing in weekly worship.

In a span of seven years, The POW's journey witnessed outgrowing three facilities, reflecting its resonance with the community. But for The POW, church isn't just about brick and mortar. It represents an ecosystem of faith, where every individual is welcomed and challenged to grow stronger in their faith and in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The POW's vision is dual-fold: (1) serving the community and (2) fortifying the church family. Strategic events, a regular feature at The POW, are tailored to strengthen familial bonds, foster community relations, and share the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church ardently believes in the Bible's wisdom, the Apostolic doctrine, and the Pentecostal experience, and it arranges studies in various settings to integrate these Biblical teachings in daily living.

The Vineyard Church of Conroe is a part of the Vineyard Community of Churches, which is an orthodox Christian movement that values relationship with God through Jesus the savior and relationship with one another as God's family. Our aim is to be relevant to today's culture without compromising the Gospel. As a church community, we'd like to invite you to make yourself at home.
