The Kempsville Area Library is 22,000 square feet with over 100,000 items including books, CDs, DVDs. magazines. eBooks for the Nook, Kindle, and other readers and downloadable audio books and popular music are available through the library web site. Programs include story times for ages 6 months through 5 years, special events for school age children and teens, computer training, and an adult book club. The library has free Wi-Fi and 22 public computers providing Internet access, access to Microsoft Office 2010 products and printing for .20 per page in black and white and .50 in color. Computer use requires a valid Virginia Beach Public Library card. Library cards are free for Virginia Beach residents. Public meeting room space is available for $10 per hour.
