DJ apprenticed in Rhode Island. under some of the last masters from Brown & Sharpe and Starrett. In 1982 DJ accepted a position as production manager for a Jacksonville, Florida fiber-optic company. While establishing their manufacturing facility he perceived the need for a reliable precision-machined component supplier. He decided to go out on his own and started D.J. Camco Corporation to fill that need. D.J. Camco quickly became the supplier for several medical device and industrial manufacturers in the growing Jacksonville area.For over twenty years D.J.
