The Federal Hill Gazette is a monthly newspaper with a total circulation of 25,000 scattered throughout the entire State of Rhode Island. The paper is free and has been from the beginning when its founder decided that Federal hill was a unique and dynamic place that required its own news letter. As time went on, the news letter got bigger and bigger when finally it was decided to put out a monthly version and solicitated ads to finance the operation costs. When I purchased the paper in 2002, revenues were down and the paper looked like it wasn't going to survive in the internet world of instant information. Sckeptics were wrong. revenues now exceed $400,000 per year.
