MAAFE is a Forensic Engineering firm, which investigates and reconstructs accidents, and investigates and analyzes equipment and facilities for safety, providing testimony in the court system regarding our findings from these accident investigations, reconstructions and engineering analyses. Our work investigating, analyzing and reconstructing accidents, and presenting the results, may include any or all of the following, depending on the needs of the case: --inspection of the accident site, such as a roadway, outdoor facilities, building or industrial facilities --inspection of the involved equipment, in post-accident condition, including damaged condition (such as crashed vehicles) --inspection of the involved equipment, when it is available for operation, during operation (such as industrial equipment) --interviewing witnesses (such as during the inspection of the accident site, product and/or equipment) --review and study of case documents, evidence and applicable codes,standards, regulations and recommended practices --performing engineering analysis and/or accident reconstruction,including preparing drawings, calculations, graphical analyses, computer analyses, etc. --providing written reports and affidavits, and exhibits for reports and/or testimony --testifying in depositions, trials, hearings and arbitrations We do work in the following Forensic Specialties: --traffic accidents and traffic crashes, including consideration of roadway design and roadway conditions --consumer products --industrial, commercial and construction equipment and machinery --premises and building and property accidents, including slips, trips and falls --workplace accidents, including construction, and accidents involving industrial and commercial operations and facilities --chemicals, gases and materials --equipment and industrial fires & explosions --hazardous combustion, including causation of carbon monoxide poisoning Work in the Forensic Specialties listed above includes work in the following Basic Specialties: --human factors --safety design --machine guards, safeguards --warnings, and failure to warn --codes, standards and recommended practices
