Located in Olympia, Washington, AMI provides processing services and analysis for archaeology projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. AMI has specialized training and expertise in flotation and fine-sieving of archaeological bulk soil or feature samples, and will accurately isolate, identify, and analyze preserved archaeological remains. Melanie Diedrich, AMI owner and registered professional archaeologist, has developed a comprehensive digital photographic library of native Pacific Northwest seeds for paleobotanical comparison, as well as a cataloged collection of native seeds. She has collected a full PNW botanical research library, and has experience working with material from both wet- and dry-sites on both sides of the Cascades.
