Geeks for Business began in 2006 as Geek Housecalls, a part-time operation Matt started just out of high school. Over the years, Matt developed a strong local customer base in Durham, and soon, across the Triangle. Bolstered by the success of residential IT, Matt created Geeks for Business as a subsidiary of Geek Housecalls in 2019. When the pandemic hit in 2020 demand for business IT service exploded and Matt brought on his first employee, and pretty soon after, his second. While demand for residential tech support remained strong throughout the pandemic years, demand for business IT outstripped it, leading Matt to make the difficult decision to retire the Geek Housecalls name and brand and focus solely on business IT. Geeks for Business became its own entity in 2022 and Geek Housecalls was officially retired in 2023. As of 2024, Geeks for Business serves a diverse array of small business clients through the Triangle.
