Growing up on North Capitol Hill, the neighborhoods south of the Ship Canal, were my backyard. My summers were spent on Whidbey Island and I worked at my Dad's orthodontic office in Bellevue and later Queen Anne. I ventured north of the Montlake Cut to attend the UW, owned homes in the Bryant Assumption and Maple Leaf neighborhoods. My husband and I now live in the Picnic Point neighborhood, 25 miles north of Seattle, where our children grew up and attended Mukilteo Schools.
