Founded in 1991, the Notary Law Institute is based in principles of law. We teach notaries of America their state laws, help notaries obtain their commission, and provide legal tools to perform proper notarizations. NLI also specializes in helping organizations create and organize a notary program, thereby protecting the company, it's clients, and the notary. Every notary public is responsible for learning how to notarize correctly. In our notary classes we teach and advocate principles of notary law, not "hand-me-down" traditions heard on the grapevine. That's folklore and it can be dangerously misleading. If we can not substantiate our teaching with state notary laws or common law, we don't teach it.
