Big Moose Yamaha started in a small shop on Big Moose Lake in 1976 by Jon & Phil Martin. In 1980, the company took on Arctic Cat and moved to Eagle Bay, along State Route 28 and Trail 5. Big Moose Yamaha/Arctic Cat was winter seasonal until 1986 when it expanded with Yamaha outboards, wave runners, and three lines of boats to become a year-round business.
In 1987, Big Moose Yamaha/Arctic Cat built its present building which tripled the size of the showroom, parts, and service areas. Credit card gas pumps were added to provide 24-hour gas for customers.
Big Moose Yamaha/Arctic Cat has grown into the largest snowmobile clothing retailer in the Northeast. The shop is currently open 7 days a week during the winter season to assist customers.
