The spa originally started in the "Between the Locks" building with two therapy rooms. In 2005, we expanded and built on two more rooms and added additional services. In 2008, we purchased the building across the street from the "Between the Locks" building which used to be Wilmar Chocolates. We started the remodel of the building in July 2008 and opened in our new facility in November 2008. The Sunflower Spa now stands as 2,500 square feet with seven therapy rooms, shower, steam room and sauna. After six years of providing a wonderful spa experience the Sunflower field continues to grow.

Massage Services
*The following are GENERAL descriptions of each service. All services are customized for each client's preferences and needs.
Swedish Massage: Great for general relaxation, Swedish massage uses long gliding strokes, gentle kneading and compression to release mild muscle tension, reduce stress and improve overall well-being.
Deep Tissue Massage: Deep tissue massage uses specialized techniques to address the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. While this modality generally utilizes a heavier pressure, clients should always alert the therapist if the pressure is too much or if any part of the massage is too uncomfortable. If you feel the urge to tense up or hold your breath, the pressure is beyond your tolerance and the treatment will be less effective.
Side effects can include stiffness and soreness for as long as a few days following the massage, much like following an intense exercise session. Remaining well hydrated (as one is medically able) is the best way to combat these symptoms.
Therapeutic Massage: Therapeutic massage is customized to address the unique needs of each individual client. It may include a variety of modalities including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point release, myofascial release, neuromuscular facilitation, massage cupping and many more.
Clients should be prepared to communicate with the therapist regarding their comfort level throughout the massage and any health concerns to ensure the best treatment result possible. Some therapeutic issues may be significantly improved after just one session while others can take many sessions to see a noticeable change. This can depend on the severity of the issue, how long the issue has been present, the over health of the client and the client's involvement in their treatment outside of the massage session.
Prenatal Massage: Swedish techniques are applied to the head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, back and hips. Lymphatic drainage may be applied to the legs and gentle myofascial may be applied to the abdomen. The client is positioned on the table in accordance with safety considerations related to each trimester and individual preferences. Clients must notify the therapist of any risks associated with the pregnancy.
Hot Stone Massage (Coming Soon!): Each area of the body is first massaged with heated stones to increase circulation, soften muscle and connective tissue and enhance relaxation. More on our website.
