Built in 1920 the Central Community Branch YMCA is one of the best-kept secrets in Worcester. We recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation to our facility and invite you to stop by for a tour or a visit.
Our Central Branch staff and membership reflect the rich diversity of our city. We are a community of members that are like friends and family to each other. The Central Branch is well known for being a safe and positive place for teens, providing some of the best opportunities available for this tough-to reach age group. If you have not been by to visit Central recently you do not know what you are missing.
YMCA of Central MA established in 1864.
The YMCA of Central Massachusetts, a nonprofit human service organization, is committed to strengthening the foundations of community through Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility with children, teens, adults, and seniors in Central Massachusetts.
Our history runs deep and has impacted generations dating back to the 1800s. The beautiful downtown Mechanics Hall was the original landmark of the first YMCA in Worcester. In 1864, the Y used rented space on the second floor of Mechanics Hall for bible classes, religious meetings, visiting the sick and aiding the poor.
Today, the Y is one of the region's most significant charitable institutions. The Y has demonstrated, with great consistency, a distinct ability to address ever-changing community needs. We do not exist merely to provide quality facilities for health and wellness activities. Our four full-service branches serve 29,000 members across 57 cities and towns.

Join in on a pick-up basketball game in the gymnasium. The friendly staff is always ready to answer questions or help you to find the perfect program for you or your child.
