James' Place kids are cared for in a professional, loving environment by highly qualified daycare teachers. All children in the daycare center receive individual attention through an adult to child ratio that is 35% higher than state daycare licensing standards. A multilevel, cross cultural curriculum that emphasizes personal initiative, expanding intellectual development, fitness and ecological awareness stimulates and challenges the children to pursue information and make it their own.

Led by our experienced teacher, Becky Curtis, children are encouraged to make their own discoveries in many different interest areas, including art, science, drama, and construction. Through structured and unstructured activities in both large and small groups, children have countless opportunities to develop social skills and fine-tune the skills necessary for future success in reading, writing, and mathematics.
WFCP is affiliated with the Whatcom Community College Parent Education Program. Parents assist in the classroom approximately twice a month and attend monthly parent education meetings on topics such as emotion coaching, power struggles, nutrition, and literacy. This collaboration between WCC, parents, and our school keeps our tuition much lower than the average preschool.
