My name is Janice Wells, also known as the "Rug Goddess" and I have been in the area rug industry for over 25 years. I started my career working for a beautiful area rug gallery in Kansas City where I developed a passion for area rugs. My career took a turn when an out-of-town sales representative for one of our rug manufacturers started drilling me about the current rug inventory in the showroom. With no hesitation, I answered all his questions quickly and efficiently about each area rug. He was amazed at how well I had memorized the stock and knew the products better than he did; he laughed out loud and called me “The Rug Goddess.” That evening, I was telling my husband, who happens to be a marketer, the story of how I was nicknamed The Rug Goddess. He laughed and said that’s a great name. The next day, he purchased the domain and started building me a website called “Rug Goddess,” and the rest is history.
