I was especially interested in the problems being created in the oceans by the use of plastic, specifically the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The deteriorating condition of the ocean impacts all life in the food chain. The desire to reduce plastic usage and promote products that are produced with respect for the environment, the producers and the consumers lead me to fair trade products. I was excited to find so many creative people supported by organizations that live by principals of fairtrade and environmental responsibility. All the products on the site are from fairtrade organizations, and are eco-friendly.
