As a young girl my mother and grandmothers were always available to help me sew. It was usually a Barbie Doll outfit. Back then patterns were much more re-usable than today. That skill has stayed with me all my life and provided a steady income for my family. I started selling bunnies, and raggedy Ann dolls to gift shops in the finger lake area of central NY. After tiring from working for $2 per hour, I decided to try window treatments which was a suggestion from a friend. I offered anything that could be sewn for the "home" which were pillows and window treatments. That was in 1990 when we formed Window Works Blinds and Draperies. We have four wonderful ladies that sew for us and we are growing by leaps and bounds. Although I miss sewing everyday I work primarily on designing window treatments and growing the business. Although most of our residential and commercial work is in the greater Denver area, this past year we have done work in Snowmass, Boulder, Crested Butte, Indiana, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York. Our business offers custom sewing of home furnishings and a design studio full of fabric and shade samples. We offer fair discounts and good solid advice.
