Island Turnings is owned and operated by a 30 year veteran in the United States Navy. After traveling the world, surviving two wars and numerous close calls as a helicopter search and rescue crewman and rescue swimmer I decided to settle down in a very beautiful place and make even more beautiful products.
My goal is to make products from wood that will last as long as you wish to keep them. I will use any wood that the customer desires. If cost is a factor and the exotic or hard woods are too expensive I will be happy to use pine, fir or hemlock. I take pride in making high quality products out of inexpensive woods.
My favorite words are "Can you make........?" I love a good challenge and strive to impress my customers. What can I turn for you today?
