Located downtown and just steps from The University of Georgia, Hotel Indigo-Athens is the new standard. Hotel Indigo ??? Athens??? downtown location is a previously developed, urban infill site that was vacant at the time of development. During the construction process of Hotel Indigo-Athens, over 30% of the building was constructed from recycled content including countertops, metal room studs, door hardware, cast iron tree grates, and wood, carpet, ceramic tile and rubber flooring. Over 46% of building constructed from locally extracted, processed and manufactured materials including granite, structural steel, gypcrete, cement and gypsum board. And importantly, during construction over 95% (1,660 tons) of the construction waste was recycled and/or diverted from landfills.
