Located in the fishing village of St. Marks, Florida, is an intriguing part of history - The Sweet Magnolia B & B Inn. The original structure was built in 1918 by the Strickland family and the last business occupying the house was a bar & brothel, owned and operated decades later by another Strickland family member, that burnt up in a fire in the early '80's! The original owner and his wife lived in the back of the house, rented rooms upstairs & ran a general store in the front of the building. In between the ownership of the Strickland family members, the building has been used as a church, meeting hall, bars, brothel, drop off site for prohibition liquor, and today, as St. Marks' only B & B Inn.
