The purpose of this Society shall be the gathering and preserving early and present day historical materials relating to the western area of Rhode Island; providing for the accessibility of such materials as far as may be feasible to teachers, school pupils and the public cooperating, with Churches, granges, patriotic organizations and schools, and promoting the social and cultural life of RI.
