The Beginning of "Maze Art by Jeffrey W. Fischer: As a member of the U.S. Army, I spent the majority of 2005/2006 deployed to Southern Iraq in support of "Operation Iraqi Freedom". I spent most nights producing mazes. As my deployment progressed, my artistic abilities blossomed. It is during this time period that I believe I made the transition from a "maze drawer" to a "maze artist". The harder I worked and the more mission stress I received, the better my art became. After returning home from Iraq, the mazes were put away and even the US Military/Veteran Affairs could not convince me to publicly show the mazes. It took five years of healing and positive feedback from hundreds of individuals before I was convinced that this project was worthy of publication.
