Purpose & Mission Statement:1. to esablish & maintain peace with our fellow people,& under no circumstances affiliate with any militant groups; 2. to establish programs that are beneficial to our people,the State of South Carolina,& to its subordinate governments in the Counties,Cities,& the communities in which we live; 3. to strive to bring all Native peoples together in unity; 4. to learn, live, record, & teach the history of our people in an effort to preserve it for future generations; 5. to promote our Native American Heritage & culture in South Carolina; 6. to promote self-government of our group,the Cherokee Bear Clan in South Carolina; 7. to engage in & to be cooperative with all Indian Tribes, Groups & nations which help to promote the general welfare of Native peoples everywhere
