Aikido of Gainesville is dedicated to the spread of high quality, effective, efficient self defense throughout the Southeastern United States. Beginning students are trained in the Iwama Style which the old people in Japan call O'Sensei's Style. This is taught from strong static attack positions then you are taught how to get out of the hold and execute strong effective techniques. As students progress they are taught more and more of the Nishio Style of Aikido which is a strong, effective flowing style. The combination of the two styles forms a very strong knowledge of techniques and how to handle various attacks and how to think to cause more techniques to appear. Advanced classes often become a laboratory for analysation of techniques to determine how they work and create more.
