In 1969, OARS became the first exclusively, non-motorized rafting company authorized by the National Park Service to run trips on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. In 1987, Grand Canyon Dories founder and conservationist, Martin Litton, passed the reins to OARS founder, George Wendt, so that he could carry on the dory legacy. Today, OARS & Grand Canyon Dories maintain an ongoing commitment to conservation and responsible travel through unequaled access to more rivers by raft or dory.

Canyoneers is the oldest river running outfitter on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. We offer two types of boat trips, motorized pontoon and human powered, historic rowed cataract.
Motorized tours allow you to experience and see more in a shorter time period. Ride every white water rapid on the full 280-miles in only 7 days on a motorized expedition, or see two-thirds of the Grand Canyon in 5 days, or the upper portion in 3 days.
The rowed cataract tours take you back into history, running the Colorado River like the pioneers of yesteryear. For the more leisurely rowed trip, allow 14, 9 and 6 days for the same tours above.
