THE DOGGUY was founded in 1998 by Chris Amick and is backed with over 30 years of experience. Chris has been active in dog sports since 1978 and has trained and titled dogs in both AKC obedience and Schutzhund sportwork. While Kennel Manager at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society he saw that a great many dogs were being surrendered for often minor behavior problems. Chris began offering obedience classes for both the adopted dogs and those that the owners were willing to work with instead of surrendering. Many dog human relationships were saved and several of his students subsequently earned their CGC's. Chris is also a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator.
