Terry Kopp started Kansas City Rib Company "Grand master" Barbecue in 1993 after taking barbecue classes with barbecue expert Paul Kirk.Terry attended Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School in Canada in 1994 and opened his first restaurant in 1995. Started doing BBQ contests in 1997, taking 1st Place at American Royal for Hot Rubs and a Gold Medal at the 2000 National Barbecue Contest for his Hot Mustard Sauce. Voted "Best Barbecue" at the American Royal by MIX 93.3 Radio. The restaurant was voted twice "Best of the Best" barbecue by National Barbecue News.
