Dr. Dwight De Risi Surgical Oncology Dr. Dwight C. De Risi is Long Island's leading surgical oncologist, specializing in diseases of the breast. He has been in private practice for nearly 35 years, 10 of which were as the Chief of the Breast Service at ProHEALTH Care Associates before joining NY Breast Health. He attended Seton Hall University, received his doctorate from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and completed his four-year surgical residency and one-year chief-ship training at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. In addition, he completed a one-year fellowship in Pathology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. He obtained his board certification in general surgery.

Dr. Hal Gerstein was a member of the exclusive Biomedical Research Program at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and the Albany Medical College in Albany, NY where he earned both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1978 after six years of study. While earning his degree, Dr.Gerstein was awarded the Mosby Award for Outstanding Research in the field of virology. He then successfully completed an internal medicine residency as well as a medical oncology and hematology fellowship at the North Shore University Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital from 1978 through 1984. Dr. Gerstein is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
