Dr. Sarraga decided at a very early age to follow in his grandfathers footsteps and pursue a career in the art of medicine and surgery. Even before entering medical school, Dr. Sarraga was fascinated by surgery; he spent all his summers volunteering in the operating room at the Cardiovascular Center in Puerto Rico. After completing his undergraduate studies in Chicago, he attended medical school at the University of Puerto Rico, where he received many awards including membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and being in the top 10 percent of his class.
