Marc D. Shapiro, MD, is a neuroradiologist with 20 years of experience in his field. He has a successful private office, Neuroskeletal Imaging Shapiro Marc D MD, located in Winter Park, Florida that features Central Florida’s only 32 channel 3T open, wide bore MRI and is an international show site for Siemens’ most advanced 3T MRI. As a neuroradiologist he focuses on the diagnosis and characterization of abnormalities of the central and peripheral nervous system, spine, and head and neck using neuroimaging techniques. Dr. Shapiro has a remarkable career marked by a series of achievements, including having been selected by the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine to teach their MRI fellows, who are already board certified radiologists. He studied at the University of Kentucky and trained at the University of South Florida, University of California at Los Angeles, and The Mount Sinai Hospital. He is also fellowship trained in neuroradiology at Yale University, where he served as Chief of Neuro MRI & ENT Radiology. Certified by the American Board of Radiology - Radiology, he remains a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. Voted among America’s Top Radiologists between 2002 and 2011, he was declared Teacher of the Year by Yale Department of Radiology (1989) and Teacher of the Year by the University of Central Florida (2013).
