Ever since I was a young girl, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. I wanted to help people live healthy lifestyles and feel good about themselves. When I was in high school, I had braces and, when they were removed, my new smile made me feel more confident and sure of myself. At that moment, I had found my life’s calling and future career. I would be able to accomplish both of my desires in the practice of dentistry. I am the oldest of six children, and was born and raised in a rural community in southeastern Iowa. I received my BA at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 1995, where I majored in Biology and minored in Musical Performance. I then went on to earn my Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry in 1998. I moved to Colorado in 1999 to take advantage of all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer. I have been practicing in Colorado ever since.

Dr. Wyatt, who joined our practice in 2023, holds a degree from Case Western Reserve University. Working alongside his father from the start, he is dedicated to helping patients achieve the healthy smiles they’ve always wanted. Dr. Kurt W. Knechtel graduated from Oregon Health Science University in 1995. This former Longmont High School graduate came home after college to begin his career. He has been in the dental field for 26 years. Dr. Knechtel enjoys staying on the leading edge of dentistry and always looks for new methods to improve the patient experience. In addition to his original degree, he has expanded his qualifications by receiving further training in implant implantation and orthodontics.
