MTP Kit is the combination of two medicines Mifepristone and Misoprostol. It contains 1 tablet of Mifepristone 200 mg and 4 tablets of Misoprostol each of 200 mcg. Mifepristone is given orally whereas Misoprostol is given vaginally to terminate pregnancy. For the medical termination of intrauterine pregnancy of upto 63 days of fertilization MTP Kit is used. The pregnancy duration can be determined either by the clinical examination or by the menstrual history. Ultrasonographic scan is ideal to know the duration of pregnancy.
