Dr. Paramvir Singh has more than 15 years experience in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. He went to medical school at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences which is regarded as the best medical school in India. This was followed by a three-year categorical residency in Internal medicine at the same medical school. In pursuit of higher education and training, he immigrated to the United States in 1997. Here, he initially completed another residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New york at Buffalo followed by training in gastroenterology at the same institution. He passed the gastroenterology certification examination conducted by the American Board of Internal Medicine in November 2004 with a three digit score of 177 which corresponds to the maximum decile score of 10. In the spring of 2015, he again was re-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and achieved a score of 609(mean reference group score of 499). This attests to his vast knowledge in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology including his desire to remain abreast with the latest developments in his field. To further improve his skills, he completed another fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy including endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) and ERCP at the University of Cincinnati. With this fellowship, he is competent in performing advanced endoscopic procedures like EUS, ERCP, stent placement in esophagus, duodenum, colon as well as endoscopic removal of large colon polyps. His training and extensive 15-years of experience has enabled him to treat complex patients in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and perform endoscopic procedures with extremely low complication rates in Redding.
