Dovaheights Physical Therapy & Wellness was nowhere on my radar in 2012 when I was given the opportunity of a life time to work for a rehabilitation hospital in Texas. So, with a 9-week old daughter in tow and my ever supportive husband, we made the move to the United States, a couple of years after completing my Physical Therapy training in Aberdeen, Scotland. However, 8 years into my physical therapy career, my soul hungered for much more—something bigger than I could comprehend at that time and that was how my vision for DPTW started. In my experience, I have seen the life-changing effects of diligent exercise on people with Parkinson’s and stroke. Following research and testimonials from PARKINSON’S WARRIORS and STROKE SURVIVORS, I was exposed to the transformation that is possible with the proper combination of exercise, stress management, nutrition and sleep—my passion was awakened! So I have integrated physical therapy with wellness training for PARKINSON’S WARRIORS and STROKE SURVIVORS that include Parkinson’s and Stroke-specific exercises, coaching on nutrition for brain health, stress management, sleep and so much more.
