Looking at function within a child's world is the domain of an occupational therapist. Occupational therapy may be indicated for children if they have difficulties with fine motor skills, sensory processing, motor skills, self care skills, or visual and spatial processing. As an occupational therapist, evaluation and initial intake of information starts the process, with parental input and decision making a key component. Then a service model is determined, whether it be consultation, direct OT services or home programming.
