Our cardiologists also perform all required procedures to maintain heart health. For patients concerned about their risk of developing cardiovascular disease, our physicians focus on the prevention of atherosclerosis (plaque buildup), which can put patients at risk for heart attack, stroke, and peripheral arterial disease.

Wilmington Health surgeons treat diseases or injuries that require operative management, including breast disease, dialysis care, hernias, appendicitis, and gallbladder inflammation. They also offer subspecialty care for vascular disease and colorectal disease. In keeping with the latest applications of medical technology, the surgeons have additional training in the use of laser and laparoscopic surgery.

The specialists at Wilmington Health Urology treat diseases and malfunctions of the bladder, prostate, and kidney in adults. They are specifically concerned with the function of the male and female urinary and urogenital tract (reproductive organs). We have a urogynecologist specifically trained in Female Urology and Urogynecology. Our urologists have additional training in complex stone management with minimally invasive techniques. The urology team is trained to address problems concerning female and male sexual dysfunction and male infertility, as well as perform in-office vasectomies and biopsies.

Ashley Schuman received her Bachelors in nursing from Queens University in Charlotte, NC and her Masters from Kaplan University. As a nurse, Ashley worked at Beach Family Medicine and Urgent Care in Myrtle Beach, SC before joining the Wilmington Health family. Ashley currently works with our Neurology team in Silver Stream.
