Our mobile dental team regularly visits patients in their homes here in Colorado to provide professional care directly where they live. Dr. Lind and Dr. Hekkert (the supervising dentists from Littleton and Castle Rock respectively) support these desperately needed community outreach programs. Our team consists of a certified hygienist, a patient/business manager and a denture specialist. The mobile team is equipped with all needed equipment and supplies. Our method of delivering care came about after John Karge, denture specialist and friend and colleague of Dr. Lind’s and Dr. Hekkert’s, discussed the tremendous dental needs of mature adults. This coupled with the difficulties experienced by mature adults and their families in getting to a dental office for a scheduled dental appointment. “After we discussed the issue, we thought there had to be a better way to deliver care to loved ones in those challenging circumstances rather than making them travel to a dental office.” Our dental team travels to communities in Denver and the surrounding areas. Appointments are coordinated to accommodate the patient’s daily activity schedule. The team provides a wide range of personalized dental procedures based on the patient’s individualized needs. Procedures range from cleanings to complete denture services. For dental needs such as tooth extractions and fillings, transportation options or arrangements are provided to our local dentist’s office. Our mission is focused on providing dental health care and personalized options for the mature adults of our community. Many adults suffer from chronic conditions that impede their mobility, affecting their ability to properly brush their own teeth. Often during the transition from their homes to long-term care facilities, many mature adults lose contact with their primary dentists.
