With a "Green" approach and a focus on ecosystem design, pond problems are resolved using only natural methods. Chemicals are never recommended. Often small changes to the infrastructure such as the addition of aquatic plants, shade, improving or removing the pond bottom substrate and applying better water flow principals are all that are needed. The primary focus of filtration recommendations is in the removal of the sludge particulate in the water before it becomes sludge (mechanical filtration) with all other filtration methods (except bog filtration) considered secondary and largely unnecessary.
