Karen Zaborac, awarded the 1998 Small Business Person of the Year, maintained their existing glass tinting clients and began offering fabric awnings which lead into patio covers, retractable deck awnings, deck and dock shades and party tent rentals. The growth of their business caught the attention of SCORE, Senior Corps of Retired Executives, and they awarded American Sun Control the honorable title of National Small Business of the Year in 1998.
