I believe in working with the clients helping them to access their own answers for their problems, empowering the clients to become self sufficient and secure to handle all of the challenges life throws at them. I use an eclectic approach as I tailor treatment for each person and situation. I have a lot if experience with mental illness and trauma issues and I have been trained on a technique (EMDR) which helps people to be able to reduce or eliminate knee-jerk responses to conflict, helping them to achieve self control and better relationships. I also work using art/activity based therapy and group therapy which are effective methods to work with teenagers. I speak English, Spanish and Portuguese fluently. I also work with family therapy if the focus of the work is the relationship between the teenager and the parents.
