V.F.W. Post 9668 was founded on October 18, 1989 though the organizing efforts of Frank Larick in Urbandale, IA and 55 of his Veteran friends. Frank served in the Army Air Force in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during WWII as a bomber service technician stationed in India. Frank was a tireless advocate for Veterans rights and Post 9668's longest servicing Post Commander. Frank departed this life on July 21, 2009 and was laid to rest at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter, IA Post 9668 is continuing to grow in numbers by recruiting Veterans who have served their country the since Vietnam. Post 9668 current membership is 120 Veterans from WWII thru to Afghanistan & Iraq conflict of the Global War on Terrorism. The Post meets the first Monday of every month at 7:00 P.M.
