As a 30 year veteran in the education field I am passionate about helping learners of any age progress in areas of my particular expertise which includes music and reading. My past teaching experience is primarily in private and group piano instruction with some vocal background as well. I have taught in the public school setting also, as K-12 Vocal/General Music Teacher and as a paraprofessional at the elementary level. Recently, I have acquired tutoring skills in the reading area through an excellent, systematically structured tutoring program designed by veteran teacher and tutor Melanie Vaughn. I plan to employ her techniques and adapt as necessary to meet the needs of the individual student and their learning style.
